Ducati 2020 news: the summer proposals

That it is the first effect of the cancellation of all motorcycle salons, from Intermot in Cologne to the Eicma in Milan? There is, the fact remains that Ducati, in the middle ofsummer, presents several novelties, a fact certainly unusual, but it is also a sign of optimism. As if to say: yes, the health emergency of recent months has marked us, but we have confidence and continue to work to propose small and big news on the market.

Among these, the most important is that of the new Scrambler 1100 Pro, actually presented as early as January this year, offering a renewed graphics, new exhaust and saddle finishes, shorter rear fender and low license plate door; in addition, the Sport version is further characterized by a narrower and shorter handlebar, with cafe racer-style mirrors and Öhlins suspension.

Also for the same family, recently, a special series of
Scrambler 1100
was presented, namely the Scrambler Ducati Club Italia,a proposal that is the result of the collaboration with scuderia club Italia,an important association of fans of historic and racing cars.

The bike is characterized by the red leather saddle of Poltrona Frau,the metallic blue tank with the logo that Giugiaro designed for Ducati and the frame in the same color as the tank. The fenders are made of aluminum with tricolor screen printing, while the ray circles have black channel and rays.

From a technical point of view, this special version has thermognoni titanium approved silencers.

Other distinctive data are the heated knobs and the many aluminum details obtained from the solid, such as the brake and clutch levers, the brake and clutch pump tank covers, the frame studs and the footrest platforms.

The whole operation is then made more interesting by the fact that for each bike sold 500 euros willbe donated to the Policlinico di S. Orsola in Bologna, developed for patients recovering after contracting Covid-19.

Another interesting novelty concerns the world of Hypermotard,with the arrival of the 950 RVE,also with its beautiful special livery called “Graffiti” and inspired by street art.

Already presented as a prototype at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, it required not simple work to make its particular graphic solutions serial, so much so that it was necessary, in the painting phases, to employ specialized labor, resorting to special decals, adopting a particularly long and complex process.

But the RVE also has a lot to say from a content point of view, as it is equipped with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO, which thus adds to the electronic package already available for this bike.

With these characteristics, the RVE is positioned between the input model,
the Hypermotard 950
and the top of the range, the Hypermotard 950 SP equipped with increased stroke Öhlins suspension and Marchesini forged rims.

Given the number of summer novelties, could the Panigale, the queen of supersport motorcycles, be missing?

Of course not, it’s the chorus answer.

So, here comes the new “White Rosso” livery for the
Panigale V2,
which has the dowry to have the white color as the main protagonist. According to Ducati technicians, this color enhances the lines of the small part of the Panigale family.

Present, however, to emphasize, various details in red color, as per the tradition of the House, including the circles, the front air intakes and the deflectors of the upper semi-fairings.

All this is completed with the presence, on the lower semi-fairings, of the Panigale V2 logo made in large dimensions, as if to emphasize the uniqueness of this bike in comparison with the other four cylinders of the same family!

The exceptional testimonial for his debut was Pecco Bagnaia,who rode the bike in preview, trying it in Misano. This is his statement on the subject: ” Since 2016 my personal motto has #GoFree. For me it means living carefree and free, having fun and prioritizing the things you love to do. I believe that the Panigale V2 fits well into this definition and reflects my way of being. The new livery, so white, is very beautiful and different from the usual. Despite being a road bike, it surprised me how much speed I can get on the corner. It is a fun bike, very stable and very sincere, which allows you to go strong, safely, without fatigue, while having a very strong and decisive character and personality“.

This for the moment is what came out of Borgo Panigale, but we are convinced that more substantial news will be presented between now and the end of the year.
