Sporty and versatile, capable of safe and important performance in all conditions, on the asphalt that in off-road sections: the Ducati Multistrada V4 has just debuted on the market, but expectations are already very high for what is a candidate to be one of the most prestigious maxi enduro bikes in the coming years. And to achieve this an important role obviously the tires play, with Pirelli once again called to offer its technical support to the Ducati creature.
The collaboration between Pirelli and Ducati
In fact, since 2003, the year of the launch of the first Multistrada, Pirelli has “taken care” of providing tyres in first equipment, specifically designed to accompany the bike on every occasion and circumstance. And now, with the launch of the fourth generation, the long P company has tripled its commitment, proposing 3 types of tires that allow you to better drive the new Ducati Multistrada V4.
These are, to be precise, Pirelli Scorpion Trail II, Scorpion Rally STR and Scorpion Rally tyres:also proposed on sites such as Euroimport Pneumatici, specialized in
the sale of tires online,
these models offer an important contribution in terms of performance and safety driving of the Borgo Panigale motorcycle.
3 tyres for the Ducati Multistrada V4
The new Ducati fits tyres measuring 120/70 ZR 19 M/C 60W TL (D) at the front and 170/60 ZR 17 M/C 72W TL (U) at the rear, now a reference in the maxi enduro category; the “original” equipment includes tires Pirelli Scorpion Trail II,but tyres are approved for the first time Scorpion Rally STR and Scorpion Rally in the same size, ideal for more intense offroad use. In addition, the Multistrada V4 S and V4 S Sport models also allow the choice between light alloywheels or ray rims, which are set directly at the factory.
Pirelli has carefully studied the characteristics of large-capacity road enduros and the way they solicit tyres, and has therefore made tires to the “right” extent by evolving its models in all aspects: from structure to compounds, from tread design to profile. The result is tires in the right size to ensure greater traction, tear resistance and lower consumption of the dowels, but at the same time ensure the fundamental stability on the road even at high speed and at full load.
The characteristics of Pirelli tyres for the Multistrada V4
The Scorpion Trail II rubber – which “debuted” on the Multistrada 1200 in 2012 – revolutionized the scene by providing, first, the right synthesis between the characteristics required of one offroad tyre and those needed for a Sport Touring, and in the last five years has won 11 comparative tests on road enduro tyres.
Much more aggressive are the Scorpion Rally STR tyres, which combine the versatility of an enduro street with typical characteristics of rally racing tires,so as to ensure the right balance on/off-road.
Finally, Scorpion Rally is a rubber that derives from the experience of competitions in dakar and desert rallies and manages to bring this “philosophy” even in amateur use, allowing the biker to launch his Multistrada on terrain ranging from soft sand to hard stone.
