Made in a limited and numbered edition of 630 pieces, the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini was born from the collaboration between the two prestigious brands that have their roots in the Motor Valley, the land of Emilia-Romagna motors in which there are many of the companies of most sporty and desired cars and motorcycles in the world.
Unconventional, unique, unmistakable: the Diavel 1260 is the model of the Ducati range able to amaze enthusiasts with its personality, for its naked sports road behavior, for its thoroughbred sports engine and for its design.
To carry out this project, the Ducati designers have chosen to be inspired by the Siàn FKP 37, the most prestigious car ever made by Lamborghini: available in only 63 units – each of which customized to specific customer requests – it is a masterpiece of exclusivity, design and innovation. It is inspired by the Countach, has sharp lines, aerodynamic elegance and an unmistakable silhouette. The Siàn FKP 37 is the most powerful Lamborghini ever: 819 hp (602 kW) thanks to the combination of thermal and electric.
“By creating a Diavel inspired by the Siàn we celebrated the values we share with Lamborghini: we are Italian, we are sporty, and design is a distinctive element for our creations” says Andrea Ferraresi, Director of the Ducati Style Center. “The Diavel 1260 Lamborghini has been designed applying the same stylistic language that distinguishes the super sports car, so we have redesigned all the elements that characterize the design of a Diavel. For example the wheels, which are a fundamental component for a bike like this. , are forged and immediately bring the bike to the car. All the trim was made of carbon, a precious and light material. The result is a bike with great stage presence, a true collector’s item from the point of view of style and 100% Diavel in the guide “.
“We are convinced ofthe strength of our design, one of the most recognizable in the automotive world” declares Mitja Borkert, Head of Design of Automobili Lamborghini. “The clean but extremely characterizing silhouette is the basis of our language. The visionary approach to design allows us to transfer our DNA to other products. We have done a deep team work to share our styles benefiting from being inspired by them. values and the pursuit of driving fun “.
The Diavel 1260 Lamborghini is in fact the result of the joint work between the Ducati Style Center and the Lamborghini Style Center and was conceived by transferring the fundamentals of the design of the Siàn FKP 37 to the motorcycle world and redesigning the parts that most characterize the Diavel.
First of all the forged rims, light and with a new design, but also the air intakes and radiator covers, made of carbon fiber and conceived by superimposing floating elements on the main volume.
The livery was made using exactly the same paints used for the Siàn FKP 37, with the bodywork that is characterized by the “Verde Gea” color, while the frame, the undertail panel and the same forged rims are embellished by the use of color “Gold Electrum”. There is also a touch of “Ducati Red” recalled by the color of the Brembo M50 radial mount brake calipers.
Other important identifying elements of Lamborghini design are the hexagon and the “Y” style. This special version of the Diavel pays homage to the former in the form of the exhaust and the latter thanks to the aesthetic details created on the saddle.
The details of the bike that the Ducati Style Center has redesigned for this specific project are all made of carbon fiber. In addition to the aforementioned radiator covers and air intakes, the silencer cover, tip, central tank cover, saddle cover, front and rear mudguards, dashboard cover and headlight frame are also made of carbon.
The presence of 63 stands out on the livery, an important number for the Sant’Agata Bolognese company, founded in 1963 and which also indicates the limited series of the car. From this number, in fact, the 630 examples of the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini that will be produced, each of which will bear the serial number on the aluminum plate applied to the frame.
For owners of Diavel 1260 Lamborghini only, it will be possible to purchase an exclusive helmet with special graphics coordinated with the bike, designed by the Ducati Style Center.
The heart of the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini is the 1262 cm3 Ducati Testastretta DVT with phase variator. This Euro 5 homologated engine is capable of delivering 162 HP (119 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 129 Nm (13.2 kgm) at 7,500 rpm with a flat torque curve from low to medium revs, which guarantees a vigorous and energetic response in every phase of driving.
The driving position and the “power cruiser” ergonomics typically Diavel are certainly some of the key features of the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini, together with the steel tube trellis frame left exposed, the 240 mm wide rear tire, the single-sided aluminum swingarm and Öhlins fully adjustable front and rear suspension. The chassis guarantees high levels of handling and lean angles, combined with an excellent level of comfort. The forged rims and carbon parts allow the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini to have a dry weight of only 220 kg.
Sophisticated electronics ensure both high-level performance and maximum safety. Bosch’s 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU) is able to instantly detect the speed and acceleration of the motorcycle in space and allows the operation of many of the control devices fitted to the Lamborghini Diavel 1260. The electronic package includes ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control EVO (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control EVO (DWC), Ducati Power Launch EVO (DPL) and Cruise Control.
The attention to detail can be seen right from the key-on phase, when the logos of the two brands, Ducati and Lamborghini, appear on the dashboard with the color TFT screen, accompanied by the silhouette of the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini.
The Diavel 1260 Lamborghini joins the Diavel 1260 range, which for 2021 records the passage of all its models to Euro 5 homologation, in the countries that adopt this legislation.
The Diavel 1260, in Dark Stealth color, and the 1260 S, available in red and black, with the new homologation are already available in Ducati dealers. While the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini will be from the end of December.
